After two decades as the charismatic frontman of the British band Editors, Tom Smith is opening a new chapter with his solo project. With the single "Lights Of New York City," he presents his first original song – an intimate, reflective work that marks the beginning of a new creative journey.

“Lights of New York City yearns for lost youth; it’s a song that looks back on the wonder-filled lightheartedness of an earlier phase of life,” Smith explains. Musically, the song hints at where the artist wants to go in the future: toward a more direct, personal form of expression. He was supported in this endeavor by Irish singer-songwriter Iain Archer, who helped him shape his ideas and realize them sonically. The track is accompanied by an atmospheric video directed and produced by Niall Trask.
