LAETITIA SADIER

Throughout her career spanning over three decades, Laetitia Sadier has never shied away from tough topics or ceased to champion the possibility of self-determination and emancipation from conscious and unconscious forces. This is an essential part of the foundation she built with Stereolab, in which she presents her spiritual, scientific, and sociopolitical investigations. She has continued this process under her own name as a writer, singer, and musician, with each album an account of her journey of self through time, space, and the collective.

About

Whether inspired by Zen Shiastu training or the lyrics of Véronique Vincent (lyricist and vocalist of Aksak Maboul and former lead singer of the Honeymoon Killers), Laetitia faces the truth without flinching. The shadows, whatever their substance—individual and collective, present and ancient—must be recognized and acknowledged, for the more we heal within ourselves, the more undivided we become in the face of the looming neofascist/neoliberal narratives that pollute our inner and outer landscapes. Like the winter tree cover image, reflected in the word patterns of Rooting For Love, Laetitia asserts that how we heal the world to come, and what we make of it, will be a co-creation. The quality of our imagination, the direction we give our thoughts, and the ability to bring love to ourselves and the world are a first step. In addition to her collaboration with Modern Cosmology, last year's incredible What Will You Grow Now?, and her continued tours with the newly formed Stereolab, Laetitia is back in the world with Rooting For Love, once again calling us to reconnect with our inner focus and heart power to be better equipped for what is to come.
