His voice radiates power at all times—whether in fragile or roaring moments. Before the 22-year-old formulates a text, there is always a sequence of notes that first gives him access to his thoughts and feelings. The deep connection that the curly-haired and fashion enthusiast feels to music is almost spiritual: Kei didn't come to music—music came to him. Kei was born in Hanover in 2001—where he still lives today. Christian faith plays an important role in his Japanese-German family: Kei spent a lot of time in church as a child and sang in a Christian musical choir as a teenager. In his search for his place in the world, he experimented as a teenager: Kei took guitar lessons, became involved in local politics, performed on the streets, and founded a fashion brand. He is a doer, a creative spirit, a clever self-analyst—and a guy who, if necessary, will face adventures alone. Predetermined life paths? Not his thing.
