J MASCIS
There is hardly a more instantly recognizable personality in the indie landscape of the past three to four decades: J Mascis is easily recognized by any music nerd, not only by his silver hair and his relaxed, reserved manner. His musical work, which the guitarist has been performing for 40 years, mainly with the iconic Dinosaur Jr., is, despite – or perhaps because of – its simplicity, an unmistakable piece of guitar music history.

About
As soon as Mascis sings or plays a guitar solo, you're in his world. And life in this world is wonderfully peaceful and good-natured. Recorded in his studio Bisquiteen in Western Massachusetts, "What Do We Do Now" is J's first solo album to fully utilize the drums and electric leads, although the rhythm parts remain purely acoustic. "What Do We Do Now" features guest musicians, including Ken Mauri of the B-52s from Western Massachusetts on keys and Matthew "Doc" Dunn from Ontario on steel guitar.
