Daniel Sträßer was born in Völklingen in 1987.
Soon it was clear that he had an extraordinary talent for acting. Therefore, after finishing school, he studied at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg and trained as an actor.
In the 2011/2012 season he was already on the legendary stage of Vienna‘s Burgtheater as Romeo in „Romeo and Juliet“, directed by David Bösch. Countless plays followed over several seasons, including „Hamlet“, „Endstation Sehnsucht“ or „Die Möwe“.
In 2014 Daniel Sträßer‘s first cinema project „Der letzte Tanz“ followed, directed by Houchang Allahyari. In addition to all TV productions, such as „Charité“, he then took on the role of the main detective in the Tatort Saarbrücken „Adam Schürk“ alongside fellow actor Vladimir Burlakov in 2019. The first case as the new Tatort team was shown in 2020 and thrilled a wide audience.
The fourth Tatort of the popular detective team was aired on 29.01.2023 and achieved the best Tatort ratings since 1992.
