If you have any configuration questions, please contact us for details and clarification. Thank you.

Here are the common configuration details for the BTA Internet network:
All BTA broadband users will be automatically assigned DNS server IP addresses on login. We recommend that you configure manually only if necessary. If you need to configure manually, broadband (ADSL) users should use the following DNS Server IP addresses:
Alternatively, for portability, we recommend you use either OpenDNS or Google DNS:
Our authoritative domain name servers for domain names hosted by BTA are as follows. These should NO LONGER be used for general (recursive) lookups but are presented here for information only:

Clients with an SMTP feed to their own mail server wishing to relay outbound via a BTA server should set their server 'smarthost' to smtp.bta.com.
Clients are requested not to send bulk email mailshots via smtp.bta.com. If you have a need to send large volumes of email please contact us about using bulkrelay.bta.com instead.
Clients wishing to set their firewall to allow only incoming SMTP email from BTA servers for higher security should contact us to discuss this before implementation (to make best use of our network-side protection).
Clients should upload their websites via FTP using their web URL (e.g. www.mydomain.com) as the server name. Website files should be placed inside the web directory, not at the FTP root. Your main site home page should be called index.html or default.html (or .htm, or .cfm, .php, .pl, .taf, .shtml or .asp if you are using a supported scripting language).
Supported scripting languages on our Windows/IIS web servers are: ASP.NET 3.5 and PHP 5.2.x, and on our Linux/Apache servers is PHP 5.2.x.
Supported database platforms are MySQL 5.0.x (any platform) and MS SQL 2005 (Windows/IIS only).
Daily log files can be downloaded from the logs folder in your FTP root.
In order to provide clients with enhanced protection from Internet worms and malicious activity, we operate a default policy of blocking most Internet TCP and USP port numbers inbound from the Internet, so providing a 'secure first, open second' service (rather than the opposite, as with most other ISPs).
Clients requiring ports to be opened to support their Internet applications should contact us with their requirements and ports will be opened as required on request. There is no charge for this service. Alternatively—and if comfortable with operating their own network security—clients can be added to our all ports open list and bypass our network protection entirely.
Please refer to our port blocking policy page for full details.
In order to provide clients with enhanced protection from junk email and and malicious email activity, we operate an email blacklist policy. All clients with hosted email or SMTP feeds automatically benefit from this policy unless alternative arrangements are made.
Please refer to our blacklist policy page for full details.
